The following feeds are currently defined at St Andrew's. More can be added as required, and the existing ones can be refined. See Mike Shand
- 01 - Group Info -- This is displayed very seldom (i.e. once per cycle) and is intended for less important general information
- 02 - General Info -- This is displayed occasionally (i.e. twice per cycle) and is intended for general regular information, such as Junior Church, Kid's Alive, Sermons, Resources, Housegroups...
- 04 - Specific Info -- This is displayed regularly (i.e. four times per cycle) and is intended for general information that needs a higher priority
- 08 - Key Info -- This is displayed frequently (i.e. eight times per cycle) and is intended for key information such as regular service times, Ministry team, Churchwardens and Parish office
- 16 - Important Announcements -- This is displayed very often (i.e. sisxteen times per cycle) and is intended for announcements of events that are about to happen in the next week or so. Content should usually be created with an end time of the day of the event, to ensure that it is removed in a timely manner. The welcome screen also goes in here to ensure it is displayed very often.
- Override -- Content in this feed will be displayed to the exclusion of all other content in that field. It is intended for very important announcements e.g. A service has been cancelled, that needs to be seen continually. It should be used with great caution and should normally have an end time on the current day. It may be used for either graphic or text items. This feed is currently moderated by Mike Shand and will require his authorization before it will go live. We can change this if necessary, but to begin with we want to avoid any mistakes! When adding content to the override feed it is strongly recommended that you use a display time of 300 seconds or more. When there is only a single override item active on a field (as will normally be the case), the image will flicker after each display time as it fades between the two instances of the same image. If there are multiple override items active, they will be scheduled as normal, with fades between images, and a long display time is not necessary. However, unlike normal feeds, the order of items in the override feed is NOT randomised, but they are displayed strictly in the order in which they were created. This is useful for information which needs to be displayed sequentially. Great care should be taken when creating the content, becuase the only way to change the order, once created, is to delete all the override content and recreate it in the correct order.
The frequency of display is determined by the priority which may be one of the following:-
- very seldom (1)
- occasionally (2)
- regularly (4)
- frequently (8)
- very often (16)
